Birthday Letter to a Daughter {remember who you are}

A birthday letter to a daughter. Remember who you are, and whose you are.

You turned two years old today, our precious Ava Hope. I wanted a picture of you that was Pinterest worthy. Yes, of course, I have to admit that to you. But the words on the board are what I really want you to remember. Although you were most interested in that delicious sweet treat you hold in your hand, rather than holding the little chalkboard, I was dwelling on this truth down deep inside — believing it for you.

Even before you were born, I was thinking of the great BIG BEAUTIFUL plans God has for you. I have had a bit more time to get to know your brother and your sisters. Each of you have such special gifts and talents, given by God to bring Him glory. I pray that I will walk in a manner worthy of my call, in helping raise you up in those gifts to walk in a manner worthy of your call. Colossians 1:10

I pray that you will be confident in those gifts. It has taken me too long to be confident in mine. It has taken me too long to celebrate who God created me to be. I want you to know, today, who you are in Him.

There is an enemy of our souls, and he is the devil. The enemy does not want to see us rise in our calling. The enemy wants you and the whole world to remain in darkness. But Jesus is the Light of the world. In Him there is no darkness at all. Jesus overcame the world, and He make us over-comers.

Jesus desires to be our friend so earnestly, He paid a high price for us –He paid it with His own life. There is no greater love than one that lays down his own life for his friend. John 15:13

He laid it down His life for you, and He raised it back up again. When He did, He conquered — He conquered death. We do not have to fear the devil. We resist the devil, and he must flee as we surrender our hearts to God. The devil does not want you to know your value and worth.

“Don’t ever let others define your worth!”

Jesus proved your value

when He showed you,

you were worth dying for,

when He used a cross to express to you,

By His grace always know and remember…

God already takes pleasure in you.

You are the apple of His eye.

Do not accept what the negative voices say you are.

You have a creative and intelligent mind.

You were created in God’s likeness.

You have gifts.

You have strengths.

You are brave.

You are valuable.

You have a voice.

No one can replace you.

God created you just the way you are.

You are wanted.

You are beautiful.

You are chosen.

You are called.

You are accepted.

Your skills matter, even the ordinary ones.

You are wonderfully made.

You are deeply loved.

You are a daughter of not just a king, but of the KING OF KINGS.

You are His forever, and cannot be separated from His love.

You are cherished.

You are worthwhile and capable.

Your identity is already settle in Christ.

The fun part is discovering who you really are and celebrating you.

Today, and everyday we CELEBRATE you. You are our gift from God.

May you follow Him all the days of your life.

Go ahead… You stand on His promises for you. His promises are Yes and Amen.

May you always know you are LOVED FIERCE by us and by God

“Love you fierce”– I love that! 🙂

I was especially moved by the following,
“There is an enemy of our souls, and he is the devil. The enemy does not want to see us rise in our calling. The enemy wants you and the whole world to remain in darkness. But Jesus is the Light of the world. In Him there is no darkness at all. Jesus overcame the world, and He make us over-comers.”

Thank you for that, Michele-Lyn. God is always right on time. So glad that you’re the person who was right before me on the Allume Linky list. 🙂

His words of truth liberate shackled souls as well as preserve our freedom. His word is a powerful sword He has furnished for us to wield against the enemy of our souls. I am so very grateful for that…

And I am thankful you stopped by and shared your thoughts here. You bless me 🙂

  • Court

    • Michele-Lyn

Precious girl. Love the words that you have put together for her. In a time where many girls grow up not knowing they are loved and accepted for who they are, you give her such a blessing

    • Michele-Lyn

So much of my heart’s passion is that others, especially girls, would know their worth and value. I pray that I will always be able to lead my children in the truth.

Only by His grace, I can. Thank you for your encouragement. Blessing to you…

    • Michele-Lyn

I agree. I have been re-reading these words for myself this week… God knows what we need, doesn’t He? I am grateful for His words are truth and they are life.

Thank you for sharing your this with me. It encourages me more than you know. I pray that His truth speaks louder in your heart and mind, than any of the enemy’s lies resounding and that you would truly walk in knowing your worth in Christ. I pray this for myself as well.

This is such a beautiful tribute to your sweet daughter. I have a feeling when she is a grown woman she will cry every time she reads these words. But most importantly, I have a feeling you are filling her love tank everyday so that when she is grown, she will know how much He loves her. So blessed to be your neighbor today over at Ann’s. Nice to meet you. 🙂

    • Michele-Lyn
