Voice {Five Minute Friday}

Today, I am so grateful to be joining Lisa Jo in real life! LisaJo sat right in front of me as we wrote for 5 minutes together. I cannot believe it! And this gracious, precious community of bloggers who bare open their souls to share raw and true what pours from their hearts through their fingers, writing for just 5 minutes, after reading the word prompt. Today the word is VOICE.

I was mute for so long.

Or so I thought.

Maybe it was Him that kept me quiet.

Yes, this I now know.

It was so it was His voice I heard.

So that it was His voice I learned to recognize.

Yes, His voice clear, amongst all the others that try and capture my ear.

It was His voice that became my sustenance for even Jesus Himself said,

“You don’t live by bread alone, but by every word

that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Then He said, “It’s time. It’s time to raise your voice.”

And here I do, sometimes courageously afraid.

I am still finding my voice.

And I am raising it.

But may it be and always be His voice that is heard.

When I was 16 and pregnant, Jesus rescued me. Since then, I have lived for Him. When I stumble, I fall into a net called GRACE. At A Life Surrendered, I hope to bring encouragement when I share my stories — both trials and triumphs — of living out my days as a wife and homeschooling mama of 4, in pursuit of God.

    Oh this is beautiful and I understand. I just found your blog this month and consider it a blessing to share in the pearls He entrusts you with. We are courageously afraid because we write with fear and trembling as we do in ‘working out’ our salvation. Your heart is fully His and He will continue to strengthen you beautiful daughter of the Most High. Pour, pour, pour…

    p.s. I Would have enjoyed the chance to meet you at Allume…instead my role is fervent prayer for all of you. I’m in Mobile Alabama if the Lord wills I can see you this side of heaven someday!
