I highlighted whole pages of this chapter, seeing my own struggles, my own insecurities reflected in Lara’s words. But she, nor the Lord leaves us to wallow in them. No. The Truth sets us free. And Lara weaves her own personal story and the truth of God’s Word in the pages of this chapter to open our eyes to see how God sees us.
“Our gracious Father says, ‘Stop. Stop looking at everyone else for validation. Stop trying to measure up to some external standard of worth. Look at Me, my precious daughter. I called you by name. I designed you with purpose. I have good works set aside for you to accomplish. Only you. Set your gaze on Me and walk confident in the you that I created.'” — God, To Walk or Stay
So often we compare our shortcomings, faults and weaknesses another’s strengths. And when we do, we become blind to how God uniquely created, gifted us. Yes, you are gifted. It takes seeking God, our creator, to know how He formed us. And that is something our Abba Father reveals to us from glory to glory as we are being made into the image of His Son.
“He formed you with purpose and plans. He crafted your eyes and sculpted your hands. He designed you to reflect Him, to know Him, to be consumed with Him — to glorify Him. And when we do, we are beauty.” — Lara G. Williams
