But I know WHO does…
I usually do not post on Thursdays, but today I feel compelled to. Do you ever have those days where waves of discouragement and fear crash on your peaceful shore? Well, I am going on day two of it — it’s the kind of feeling that make me want to quit, run, and hide.
No, mama. Nothing in particular happened. Just thought I’d let you know, because I know, concerned, you’ll ask.
Love,
Your Daughter.
There is no explanation I have, and I lack understanding. Sometimes when things are going well, I fall asleep and get blindsided from enemy. I am not sure the source — mental, emotional, spiritual, but this morning I thought I was sure to wake-up having shaken it off from last night.
Nope. Still there — so it is time to be vigilant, stand strong and clothed in God’s armor.
A Fight to the Finish |Ephesians 6:10-18 Message|
God is strong, and He wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the devil and all his angels.
Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
I know the only offensive weapon that God listed in our armor is the Sword of the Spirit. I read the Word, study the Word, hear the Word, but today I must USE the Word. I must speak words of truth as a weapon to combat the lies. Which means, I must speak them out-loud, and make sure the devil hears. The enemy of our soul is a kick-you-while-your-down opponent. He doesn’t play fair, and seeks whom he may destroy, prowling cunningly around about you, watching for his most opportune time. A time of discouragement and fear is a most opportune for him. I will give no place to him. |Ephesians 4:27|
And I have back-up support.

Here are a few more words of truth that are on the tip of my sword this morning.
If God is for me, I do not fear what people can do to me. |Psalm 118:6|
What can we say to these things? If God is for us who can possibly be against us? |Romans 8:31|
“No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me,” says the Lord. |Isaiah 54:17|
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. |Romans 8:37|
I am blessed to have voices of encouragement all around me, but there are times when the enemies lies resound and there is no one else around. Those times…
I take captive my thoughts, |2 Corinthians 10:5|
and encourage my own soul.
Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God,
for I shall praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. |Psalm 43:5|
Do you get where I am at? We are in this together — more than conquerers…
