I am told to hold on to the dreams that I am waiting in expectant hope to see a reality. I am supposed to be holding tenacious to those dreams of tomorrow — but what about the unraveling dream of today? For Peace. For Joy. For Strength.

Today, when I am tangled tight with the daily duties.

Today, when it’s filled with torrents of toddler tears and teenage tears.

Today, when I just want to get through our summer lesson.

Today, when Husband is weak and weary from labor at work.

Today, when shoulders are sore, and toes throbbing as feet swell from miles of treading on creaking wood floors.

Today, when all around seems to be tumbling down and my insides spilling all over.

Today, when berries fall.

Today, is the day I will trust the One who holds my todays.

God is not a man, so He does not lie.

He is not human, so He does not change his mind.

Has He ever spoken and failed to act?

Has He ever promised and not carried it through?
