About My Boy {The MOB Society}

We’d been playing dress-up and hosting pretend tea parties for quite a few years already. Sisters are 5 and 7. Then it catches his eye. The very first picture of Spiderman he ever saw, and he was undone. It took until he was 2 years old. We had no Spidermen in the house — just Barbie. That was 7 years ago, and Spiderman is still his very favorite.

Then I knew. God puts in these gifts, wrapped in boy — something entirely different. Oh, and what a gift he is! Out of our 3 girls, our only boy is the most tender-hearted. I drink in his love daily. He reminds me of the love of Christ — as his gift of mercy and grace, I can compare to no other. He loves fire, fireworks, collects vintage lighters, and sharp beautiful knives. Yes, he requires much adult-supervision. 🙂

Our only son is 9 now. We pray we can adopt a little brother for him. We are taking the first step soon, for faith without works is just — dead. For now, he takes gentle care of his baby sister, and lives on pranking his older ones.

You can read about his favorite game right now, MineCraft. Coincidently, I tell about it here, in a story about my boy I just wrote last night.

Here I recommend one of the most beautiful books I’ve read about raising boys. It will just melt your heart. It is full of wisdom and practical advice, and will also touch the deep places of your heart for your boy(s).
