CHANGE {Five Minute Friday}

Today, I am so grateful to be joining Lisa Jo for Five Minute Friday, and this gracious, precious community of bloggers who bare open their souls to share raw and true what pours from their hearts through their fingers, writing for just 5 minutes, after reading the word prompt. Today the word is CHANGE.

This is how it starts.

A little stirring.

It’s subtle and easy to miss, if too distracted.

It’s a tug on the heart.

Walking through the day not mindful of anything in particular and suddenly something catches my attention. It could be an image in a book, or a line in song, or a thought that enters, and I know it did not originate from me.

It pierces my heart and I know.

God is trying to tell me something — show me something.

Give me eyes to see and ears to hear, Lord.

This is the beginning.

It starts as a seed, as everything in all of creation.

It starts with conception, and I know something is growing — something in my spirit.

But it is dark, and I cannot yet behold it.

I do not yet know what that might look like.

A solemn wonder and excitement stirs together, as I know there is a price to be paid.

There is time of preparation and development.

There is a time of dormancy and then labor before the birthing.

I wait. Change is happening. Change is coming.

I am pregnant with hope.
