POST DISCLAIMER: My eldest daughter would like me to make sure you know that we are not a “perfect” family. We are not perfect in any sense of the word. If I could let you peak in and see, you’d find us in the middle of messes and spills, quarrels and chaos, at times. Husband and I feel like we get it wrong more than right, and many days leave us shaking our heads. But, we are certain about one thing: we, as a family, will follow and serve the Lord, and need lots of grace along the way.
These were the words I tapped out in this same season, almost a year ago. My heart was stirring with questions, wondering, “What is this season really about? Who is this season really for? Jesus is the reason. I talk about it. I read about it. But how do I live it?”
This became my prayer, and also our action.
Last year, Husband and I decided the money that would normally go to buying presents to add to our already robust lot, instead will be given to help someone in desperate need. We took the step as a family, and we took it in faith. Whatever the need that we are to fill, as a family, we sought God, and He believed He would lead us to it.
And He answered a way, unmistakable, where we were to give — Christmas will be for Christ the following year. That by giving to others, we give to Him — Whom He loves becoming our priority. For us, it means giving to rescue lives — Operation Baby Rescue.

Today I get to share a bit of our Christmas story at Noel Yeatts blog.
Comments are open there. Will you join me?
