I have been in awe over the loving and prayerful response Joanna’s story has received. It has truly been a testament to the heart of the body of Christ, and evidence of the desire to stand in the gap, and pour love out through prayers, even for complete strangers — knowing we are one in Him.

Even though I have been amazed by your prayers, Joanna’s gratitude humbles and inspires me, as she is the one walking through this difficult trial, dwelling on what is worthy of praise. Here are her words.

This weekend, Joanna messaged me an update of her condition. She is supposed to be going home on *Tuesday, May 8th now. Here are her words.

The blog has been so amazing!!! People all over my school are spreading it around Facebook — people I don’t even know! It’s amazing how God moves 🙂

We still haven’t found the cause of the problem. Over the next 24 hours, we are trying a new medicine that may help move some food past my stomach. I started taking it yesterday, and it has only made me throw up faster. We will continue today, just to see if it works. As of now, the plan is for me to come home *tomorrow with a feeding tube through my nose. The tube will go past my stomach and continuously drip nutrition into my intestines.

They are hoping this will give my stomach a chance to heal itself and get my intestines used to having food in them again. I will gradually start eating again, but if I still can’t keep it down, I will probably go to a research hospital in a few weeks. It may be difficult to adjust to the tube, but I am so happy to do it if it means I can finally go home! 🙂

Once again, I can’t thank you enough for your prayers and love!!!

Joanna’s faith is strong.

Our God is FAITHFUL, and He is TRUE.

We will continue to pray for you, Joanna,

and share with others to join us.
