I’ve been wanting to share with you some of my favorite things I find throughout my days. And it seems weekend is a good time to do so. What do you think of the name: Five Favorite Findings? I’m not 100% certain and might change it, but you get the idea, eh? Let’s say I have good intentions of sharing every weekend, but we will see how that goes. But I’m certain each time I share, it will be different.
For this week:
1. Favorite photo I found: I know, this one comes from my iPhone and it’s of my toddler girl. I posted it here, and here and here, and pretty much everywhere. And I have it as my personal facebook cover photo, my background on my iPhone, and I might just print it. I think of the moment and how I felt when I took it and I want to remember it. I captioned it:
Busyness chokes out the joy.
And I have to slow down enough to see,
and for my heart + mind to agree —
this is what I “get” to do.

2. Favorite verse: I’ve been scribing Ephesians in the NASV (my favorite version), and when I come across a word or line that captivates my heart I look it up in different versions. This week there were a few words in Ephesians 2:4 that took my breath away. In the NASV is reads, “But God being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us…” I read them in the Message, “…immense in mercy and with an incredible love, He embraced us.” And in the Amplified, “Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us…” And these words were to make sure we knew why He saved us. And even now, I take a moment to breathe in and consider His immense, incredible, intense, great and wonderful love for us and mercy toward us. Will you, too?
3. Favorite post: I’m fairly new regular reader of Emily at Chatting at the Sky. Some of her posts have been speaking to me right where I am. I love these lines from this one. Thanks for this Emily.
“Could it be possible we have it wrong? That the gift isn’t in believing we can do anything but in knowing we can do nothing?
Could it be possible that your limits – those things you curse and hate and wish were different about yourself – are not holding you back but pointing you forward?
It seems to me when I finally recognize my inability is when Christ shows up able within me.
But he doesn’t equip me to do every job possible, he equips me to do the job meant for me.” Click here to read the whole thing.
4. Favorite book: I actually have two, but today I will share again Lara G. Williams book To Walk or Stay. I wrote about before. Click here to read that. She is an absolutely exquisite writer. Her words are like grace and honey. Can I say that? I wanted to remind you, too, there is a book club for it starting the week of April 18th. I’ll be sharing about it every Thursday. Click here to RSVP and join in. Oh, I hope you do.
5. Favorite quote: I promise I won’t always share just my own stuff, but my toddler has me laughing this week.
“What’s your name?” I ask.
“Ava,” she answers correct.
“Ava, what?” I prod.
“Ava, the Boss,” she replies as a matter of fact.
“Haha! Oh, really?” I laugh a little nervous. 😉
Well, friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed this as much as I have. To keep in touch, consider following by email?
