#WHBloggers. Using our voice. Changing our world.

“The difference between an ordinary Christian and a deeply committed one is that the ordinary Christian gets emotional while the deeply committed Christian gets involved.”

Since I first heard Vernon Brewer quote these words from K. G. McMillian, they’ve stayed with me. I’m a stay at home mama, and my first call is family. But my prayer has been and remains, “How can I reach the world from home?” God has begun to answer that prayer in a most unlikely way, one I never expected when I began — blogging.

It’s no secret, friends, that I support an organization called World Help. I’ve shared how God’s woven my story into theirs. I’ve been to other countries with them. You can read my stories of those trips, here and here. I’m coming to know more and growing to love more, the hearts at the center of all they do.

In their words, “World Help is a faith-based humanitarian organization that exists to serve the physical and spiritual needs of people in impoverished communities around the world. We believe that all people matter. Knowing that Jesus’ greatest commands are to love God and love people, we are deliberate and intentional about showing love and bringing dignity to each person we serve.” Continue reading what they believe…

I’ve blogged for World Help even before it was official. But now, it’s official. World Help has an open invitation to bloggers who share the same heart and passion to use their voices and influence to tell God’s story of His work around the world.

Over the summer, I nearly quit blogging all together. The journey has sometimes been lonely, and I’ve battled self-doubt and been discouraged along the way. Yet, the Lord has made it writing-on-the-wall clear that He has called me to this purpose.  And now, my heart has been encouraged by so many new #WHBloggers that share the same heart. Meet some of them. Their passion has fueled my own.

Darlene, when we experience game changers, “They awaken that part in our spiritual DNA where compassion, mercy, and justice are embedded; that part of us that is oh-so-very-much-like-our-Father…They awaken our faith and they remind us we were created to make a difference.”

Chelle“Mother Teresa once said, ‘I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.’ You may think you have little or nothing to give, be it money, words or time, but I counsel you to think again. There is always something in your hand.”

Dan “I’m still in awe that the Lord is trusting me with the task of amplifying the voices of others, and sharing their stories of hope and redemption. Theirs are the stories of God working in the world today, and people rising above their circumstances through the power of Christ. These are the kinds of stories the world needs to hear.”

Lindsy: “As bloggers, our voices can change the world. Have you ever considered that? Consider it now friend. Your voice has weight. Your words can have eternal impact. Together we can change the world.”

Jenn: “My heart broke about how I was using God given talents in my blog to serve me and not others. It’s was a breaking like no other. My heart’s desires changed, my prayers changed.”

Tara: “There is a part of me that is tired of hearing these requests for more food, more water. Part of me that has started to resent dinner, for having the audacity to come every.single.night. Then, I remember this video. I know that I need to lend my voice so that these needs, these people can be heard over the full bellies of our entitlement.”

Barbie“I am compelled to use what little I have to make a difference in this world. This blog was born out of a place of surrender unto the Lord. ‘Here am I Lord. Use me for Your glory.’ Whatever that looks like, in the big and the small, His heart will be heard through me.”

Melissa: “And as I took the time to shut my mouth and let His Words challenge me, He spoke specifically to me about this voice of mine. I don’t have a voice to tell my story, but rather to tell His. words can matter. My words can have PURPOSE for His glory.”

Laurie “How could this homeschooling, daycare mama with limited financial resources help? Maybe someday God will provide the way for me to adopt a child that needs a mama or to travel to a poverty stricken country to rescue and care for sick children. Until then I do have a voice. I can use my voice to help those who are voiceless. I can use my voice to educate and to inspire.”

Sybil, “The many days that hurtle by week after week, year after year … Oh. So. Fast. leave me wondering, considering, asking Just how does one feel truly present and process the constantly changing landscape of this life?”

Karey: “God has opened my eyes to hopelessness, in my home, town, country and all over the world. He has opened my eyes to those who have taken one step at a time to make His hope known.”

Jesenia, “I’m a wife, a homeschooling momma, small business owner and blogger. I realized recently that I’ve been using my “busy” life as a crutch to not go forward and work in God’s kingdom the way He wants me to.”

God has awakened my soul once again. I’m encouraged by these voices, these hearts sharing God’s heart. And I’m beginning to understand why community, partnership, joining together for the same purpose, is so important in the furtherance of God’s Kingdom.

“You don’t need money or power to make a difference. Some of the most inspiring change in our history has been written by individuals who stood up and used their voices…the stronger the voice . . . the better the influence . . . the more people involved . . . the greater impact we can make. OUR VOICES CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.” — World Help
