A Life Surrendered

The start of this blog in 2011, which I named A Life Surrendered, was a response to God asking me to open up about the things I was learning as a wife and mama following God—the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. He used Matthew 5:14-16 in the Message translation to call me out. The lines that urged me on and continue to urge me on are, “Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

It is my hope, as I share openly and honestly about the things I’ve struggled with, the things I’ve overcome, and the things I still have yet to overcome, that you would come to know the nature and heart of God. You don’t have to fear losing the loving of God when the process of transformation gets long and messy. There’s nothing you can do or not do that will cause God to ever stop pursuing you. He will not stop trying to get your attention, and you always have His.

Making of a Home [Unveiled] #31Days

Over #31Days I’m going to open wide the doors to my home, and share what it’s really like to be the maker of one, along with a few tips — emphasis on few. And some decorating — maybe.

Calm the Storm

And we cry out to God, "Calm the storm. Bring order out of this chaos." And He doesn’t. Instead, He wants to calm the storm in us. Sometimes, we ask God to calm the storm and chaos all around. Sometimes, the storm has come and it’s beyond our control. Sometimes, the...

How do you clean dirt floors? [Revisited]

I am on my knees again, and worship is playing in the background, but I am not in a humble stance. I am wiping up crumbs and dust that the vacuum cannot reach from underneath furniture and hidden behind accessories that beautify the room. Holding in my hand the once...

The Greatest Pursuit

"May my greatest pursuit always be of You, God." It’s been my prayer. Yet, not always my practice. It seems, I wander far from my pursuit blinded by my own ambitions, plans, and ideas before I’ve realized how off course I’ve become. When the realization comes, when...
