A Life Surrendered
The start of this blog in 2011, which I named A Life Surrendered, was a response to God asking me to open up about the things I was learning as a wife and mama following God—the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. He used Matthew 5:14-16 in the Message translation to call me out. The lines that urged me on and continue to urge me on are, “Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
It is my hope, as I share openly and honestly about the things I’ve struggled with, the things I’ve overcome, and the things I still have yet to overcome, that you would come to know the nature and heart of God. You don’t have to fear losing the loving of God when the process of transformation gets long and messy. There’s nothing you can do or not do that will cause God to ever stop pursuing you. He will not stop trying to get your attention, and you always have His.

Meet World Help…
A year ago, when my heart began to be stirred, and awakened to the nations, I never imagined God would connect me with an amazing organization doing an incredible work around the world. I never, ever would have imagined that I would also be able to write a post for...
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
I asked my eldest, "So, how do you think our different CHRISTmas is going?" Her reply made me a little nervous, "It's good, but we will see Christmas day." She's eighteen now, and change does not come as easy, but her heart is pliable. You see, we endeavored to make...
LIFE [Guest Post at Noel Yeatts Blog]
This is my last guest post for the year at Noel Yeatts place. I wish you could all meet her. She is the Vice President of World Help, and "just an everyday wife and mother trying to change the world." I recently watched her father's testimony on YouTube, here, and it...
So this is how it went…[A Different CHRISTmas]
Last year when we told them Christmas would be different, and we would make it about Christ, focusing on giving to those in need, and that the money we would have used to buy them a myriad of gifts under the tree, would be used to give to the least of these, and they...
Very Merry Christmas to you…
I was up before the sun today so I can make the dough for the cinnamon rolls -- it needed time to rise. I woke up with this on my heart. This message to the shepherds, and to the world; "good-will toward men." The gift of the Savior as an undeniable expression of...
This Eve of Christmas…
Tomorrow I will share with you our Christmas, mostly in pictures. Today, this is not the Christmas message I thought I'd write, and perhaps it's not the one you wanted to read. But it's the message God is speaking to me, this Eve of Christmas. Eve, which as a name...
Rice Crispy Treat Christmas House
Rice Crispy Treat Christmas Houses are my favorite to make. I have a small binder filled with Christmas craft ideas. I put it together, before there was Pinterest. I smiled when, in it, I found a schedule I had written out for a Christmas party we had with the cousins...
Begin Again [The Word of God]
Almost anytime I grabbed that Book, before I cracked it open and held it’s thin pages between my fingers, I would cry. Somehow I knew, every time I turned to it, it was God I’d find. For in these Words He’s found. In these pages He speaks, and it’s His love letter to...
I’ll be back in a few… [mini blog break]
It's going to be a bit quiet here for a few days. I just wanted to let you know. I began taking blog breaks earlier in the year -- about one week off, every six weeks. I know how important it is for me to take time to renew. It seems six weeks is just the perfect...
